Tributes after young Queensland teacher suffers fatal injuries in hiking fall
A teacher who was making her mark in Queensland’s north has been remembered as “vibrant, young and lovely” after her death in a fall while hiking.
Emily Hutchinson, 31, died in Barron Gorge National Park near Cairns on Saturday morning.
Emergency crews including ambulance, fire and rescue, police and a rescue helicopter were called to the scene.
She suffered serious head injuries and was flown to the Cairns Hospital in a critical condition.
