Travis Bird, 51, faces Melbourne court over alleged Caulfield Racecourse arson
The man allegedly responsible for a fire that significantly damaged a heritage-listed grandstand in Melbourne’s south-east has been remanded in custody.
More than 60 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze after it took hold at the Caulfield Racecourse at about 6 o’clock on Tuesday morning.
