TransGrid funds 900km power link to lift renewables as coal’s end nears – The Sydney Morning Herald
A new 900-kilometre power link is seen as crucial to enhancing the flow of renewable energy around the country as more coal plants retire.
Spark Infrastructure, which owns 15 per cent of TransGrid, said EnergyConnect would be fundamental to the decarbonisation of the power industry.
However, Spark managing director Rick Francis on Monday hit out at old regulatory rules governing cost-recovery that he said had made it difficult to arrange funding for the project.
