Unlike a hydrogen fuel cell car such as Toyotas own Mirai, this prototype contains all regular combustion engine parts including cylinders, pistons and valves. Toyota says that, apart from a negligible amount of oil lubricant thats burned during the combustion process, the hydrogen-fuelled three-cylinder produces zero CO2 emissions.
