A warning has been issued to workers at a Queensland port after a crocodile was found lurking near a jetty.

The reptile, estimated to be up to 2.5-metres long, was spotted swimming in Townsville Harbour on Wednesday.

Photos of the croc were posted online by the Port of Townsville, jokingly calling it a “croc-zilla”.

“Croc-zilla in the Port!” it said.
