Townsville car crash: Charges laid after seven children ‘taunt police in stolen Toyota, go on joyride’
Six children have been charged after allegedly stealing a car and going for a joyride in Townsville on Saturday.
Police allege around 5.20am, seven children stole the Toyota Landcruiser Prado from a home in Kelso.
The group was seen allegedly speeding on the wrong side of the road and driving through red lights, forcing members of the public to jump out of the way.
The children are also accused of “taunting” police, who attempted to stop the vehicle by deploying road spikes twice.
