Stage 7 was bittersweet for Richie Porte because despite losing over a minute in the crosswinds he had other welcome news on his mind.
Richie Porte, his wife Gemma and son Luca have welcomed baby Eloise into the world.
“Bit of a weird one last couple of days,” the Tasmanian said. “My wife went into labour yesterday so I’ve had that on the back of my mind all day that possibly by the stage finish we’d have another baby.
“My wife Gemma and I have a new baby Eloise so it’s fantastic.”
