Top jockey Brenton Avdulla walks out of stewards inquiry after probe into ride on Passage Of Time in the Starlight Stakes – Sydney Morning Herald
Stewards will continue a probe into the leading Sydney hoop’s Starlight Stakes effort aboard Passage Of Time after a heated hearing at Rosehill.
Passage Of Time was resuming as a $41 chance and was held up in the early part of the straight, before winding up fifth. It was his first start in almost six months. He was beaten two lengths behind the King-ridden Invictus Salute.
Trainer Joe Pride was told stewards he was satisfied with the ride and the horse’s performance. After claiming his horse’s run had peaked at the 100-metre mark as he started to lay in, Avdulla clearly became agitated with the questioning.
This was the exchange.
