In the past there has been considerable debate about precisely where this shop and garage were located. I can now confirm that the Ideal Cash Store was located on the northern corner of Lutwyche Rd and Felix St, Wooloowin, with Wooloowin Auto Supplies immediately to its left.
This was NOT the Kedron Park Garage and store opposite the Kedron Park Hotel featured in previous photos.
In or about 1955, the garage and store on the corner of Felix Street were demolished to make way for a new service station. From memory I think it was a Golden Fleece Service Station, which many…
