NSW’s leading apprentice Tom Sherry got the monkey off the back when linking up with boss Mark Newnham to steer home promising filly Fulmina for his first city win at Randwick on Saturday.
Sherry finished last season as the top ranked apprentice in the state with an impressive tally of 95 winners enough to see him finish in the top-10 for all jockeys in NSW.
