Tokyo Olympics organisers are lighting the torch and forging ahead with an event that a majority of Japanese people say should be cancelled or delayed.
Today the Tokyo Olympics will reach its point of no return: The start of the torch relay in Fukushima.
When the flame leaves the Grand Start ceremony, it seems almost certain that the Games will go ahead in Tokyo in July this year.
The event was delayed last year as the coronavirus pandemic made mass gatherings and international travel impossible.
There have been rumours Japan could be forced to cancel the Games altogether, but it is hoped a ban on foreign spectators flying into the country will…
