Toddler drowns in public pool in remote community near Alice Springs

A toddler has drowned in a public swimming pool in the remote community of Kintore, about 530 kilometres west of Alice Springs.

In a statement, NT Police said local workers in the community found the child unresponsive earlier today.
Police were notified about midday but it is not yet known exactly when the incident occurred.
“Attempts to resuscitate the child were unsuccessful,” the statement read.
“Detectives are travelling to the community to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
