Tina Turner documentary sees music icon grapple with her narrative, PTSD – ABC News
The music icon grapples with her own narrative, in her own words, in an immersive, thoughtful film featuring never-before seen footage and images.
Tina a new, authorised documentary from the Oscar-winning duo Daniel Lindsay and T. J. Martin (Undefeated) opens with a piercing close-up of Tina Turner: her brown eyes staring down the barrel of the camera; pursed lips, coated in brick-red lipstick; a wind machine gently blowing through her iconic 80s-MTV hair.
“When you think of Tina Turner, you think of strength, resilience,” says Martin.
“I think that image embodies the symbol.”
The close-up shot is an out-take from the video for What’s Love…
