Three of Brisbane’s five new bridges are hanging in limbo
Final submissions from the two firms vying for the Kangaroo Point bridge contract are scheduled for April, according to a project update provided to the council’s public and active transport committee.
A final contract is expected to be awarded mid-year, with construction to start shortly afterwards.
Three firms are taking part in an early tenderer approach with the council around its Breakfast Creek bridge design, to link up with the Lores Bonney Riverwalk, and are expected to be asked to pitch for the project by the middle of 2021. Construction on that bridge is slated to begin later in the year.
