Thousands of new William Jolly drivers spark calls for toll bridge discount
Adam Pekol, director of Brisbane-based traffic and transport engineering firm PTT and an honorary associate professor at the University of Queensland, said the change in traffic on the Go Between and Story bridges essentially left them “unchanged” given standard fluctuations.

The number of people deciding to take the William Jolly Bridge rather than pay a toll was “quite a lot”, with most of the inner-city bridges performing similar functions.
He added the Victoria Bridge had dropped to a “second or third-order” option for cars in recent years, with the further drop opening up the potential to move “even more” people across by other means.
