Thousands of insurance claims flood in as Queensland mops up
“The threat is not over yet and we’re closely monitoring the flood levels in the Albert and Logan and Gold Coast catchments, with several rivers now at major flood levels.
“We urge residents in these areas to continue to listen to authorities and make sure everyone in the family knows the emergency plan.”

On Wednesday Gold Coast City Council staff were assessing damage across the region after a landslip on Mount Nimmel Road caused a section of road to be closed, and a landslip on Kirra Hill caused a lane to be closed.
Logan City Council was assessing dozens of damaged roads, however the full damage would not be known until the Logan River receded.
Disaster assistance was available to Gold Coast, Logan and Scenic Rim councils…
