The Weather Bureau has issued a hazardous surf warning for the Sunshine Coast for today and this weekend.

The remnants of ex-Tropical Cyclone Lucas are expected to generate dangerous rips and choppy swells up to two and a half metres high. Inexperienced swimmers are being warned to stay out of the water and keep away from areas exposed to surf.
