The venues that set off alarm bells for contact tracers – Sydney Morning Herald
After 55 days without a local COVID-19 case, NSW’s contact tracers flew down the fireman’s pole on Saturday, with the notification of a fresh infection.
This is all measured against the national guidelines for classifying a close contact someone with whom a case shares a home, or someone who spent two hours in the same room, or 15 minutes face-to-face, with a case as well as the growing knowledge from previous outbreaks.
In the Avalon cluster, 55 of the 151 cases were acquired across seven hospitality venues, some with dance floors.
