The painful truth behind Benji Marshall’s break-up with the Wests Tigers has been revealed after the legendary playmaker chose not to invite his family to his last game for the club.
Marshall suffered broken ribs and a knee injury that cut short his final game for the Tigers as they blew a late lead to go down 28-24 at Bankwest Stadium.
Retiring Tigers champion Chris Lawrence could be seen with his family and daughter on his lap of honour, but Marshall, who has made no secret of his desire to play on was noticeably alone.
