The Morrison Government’s JobKeeper wage subsidy comes to an end today, just under a year after it was introduced to keep businesses operating during the coronavirus pandemic.

1.6 million Australians were forced onto the support payments at the height of the pandemic before eligibility was tightened in September and the rate lowered to $1,200 a fortnight for full-time workers and $750 for part-time workers.

About 150,000 Australians are now expected to lose their jobs as the scheme comes to…
