Space debris is an ongoing problem in low Earth Orbit. This year alone the International Space Station had to move three times to avoid potential collisions with the junk that is flying around the planet at speeds of 18,000 mph.
Its a problem large enough that is had NASA Admin Jim Bridenstine tweeting about it back in September, In the last 2 weeks, there have been 3 high concern potential conjunctions. Debris is getting worse!
