All eyes continued to be on Victoria this weekend, despite a reduction in the number of new coronavirus cases overnight.
The southern state recorded the majority of the county’s 233 new cases, with most of the 217 cases recorded from metropolitan Melbourne.
While Chief Health Officer Brett Hutton called the drop ‘a relief’ authorities warned against complacency.
“We need to remember it’s still a high number,” Mr Hutton said. “It’s a number that would have shocked us all a month ago.”
