A friendship forged on the turf of the Gold Coast track many years ago has led to Michael Rodd snaring the ride on Rockhampton flyer Master Jamie in the Stradbroke qualifier of the $250,000 The Gateway at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Master Jamie’s trainer Graeme Green was once the turf maintenance manager on the Gold Coast and admired the young Rodd when he was coming through the ranks as an apprentice jockey.
