The mask has become synonymous with the pandemic – a visual representation for a virus that is invisible to the human eye – and health experts say it’s set to remain a normal part of daily life.
Burrows began selling silk masks two months ago, which she says are made with the help of an experienced mask manufacturer in China.
“You want to wear something thats comfortable. Theyre not effective if you keep touching your face,” she says. “I thought if I could do something that was really comfortable, thats beautifully designed and a bit of fun, then maybe it will make people more accepting of them.”
