At 3am on an August morning in 2014, Mike Sneesby helped close a deal that was pivotal to the Stan streaming service, and to his own future ambitions.
Through high school and university, he was a competitive cyclist; he was in the first junior development squad camp at the Australian Institute of Sport, and raced against Brad McGee, who would go on to compete in the Tour de France.
Road cycling, to be good at the top level, you have to be absolutely obsessive and dedicated to it, Sneesby said in August. Were talking like huge amounts of hours of training in all kinds of weather.
