Lockdown appears to be working across most of the UK – but a look a government data reveals the measures aren’t having the desired effect everywhere.
The latest figures show 93% of local authority areas in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have recorded a drop in new cases, but 23 have seen a week-on-week rise, The Mirror reports.
Of the 315 local areas in England, 12 (4%) saw cases rise, while infections fell in 301 (95%). The numbers in two local authorities remain unchanged.
