“That’s the future”: Leigh Matthews forecasts possible rule change – SEN

AFL legend Leigh Mathews has forecast a possible rule change around tackling after Nick Holmans two-match ban for a dangerous tackle was overturned at the Tribunal on Tuesday night.
Holman was initially suspended by the Match Review Officer for a rundown tackle that left Geelong star Mitch Duncan concussed and forced him to be subbed out of the game.
Speaking on Sportsday, Matthews argued that the tackler has a duty of care to not injure an opponent similarly to when a player chooses to bump.
