When Selina Gordevich-Lowes moved to Texas from Sydney, she didn’t think she’d need snow boots.
She also hadn’t considered gloves, a camping stove, a generator, cases of bottled water, tire chains or any of the other survival supplies that crossed her mind when her power went out for 55 hours this week as the temperature dropped to -17 degrees Celsius.
