Tennant Creek electrician pleads guilty to fatal workplace safety failures

The owner of an electrical services business in Tennant Creek has pleaded guilty to failing to comply with health and safety duties in relation to the death of an apprentice on one of his worksites in 2019.

34-year-old apprentice Derick Suratin died after being electrocuted while working unsupervised on a live wire on the roof of the Tennant Creek Fire Station.
