Ten-year-old Alice Springs girl stable in ICU after king brown snake bites her twice while in bed

A 10-year-old Alice Springs girl is in a stable condition in ICU after she was bitten twice by a mulga snake in her bed last night.

St John Ambulance was called to the Desert Springs home around 10:00pm Monday.
“The snake had taken refuge in the child’s bed by the sound of it,” St John regional manager Paul Bellman said.
“And they’ve put their legs in. At some stage, the snake’s woken up and not taken too kindly to the interruption to its sleep.”
