Teenager killed on highway after pulling over to check on his ute at Davies Creek, near Mareeba

A teenager has been killed after pulling over to check on his ute on a highway in Queensland.
The 19-year-old man stopped to check on his vehicle around 11.55am on Saturday on the Kennedy Highway at Davies Creek, about 15 kilometres from Mareeba.
After getting out of his car, the man was struck by a passing vehicle.
The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured and is assisting with police inquiries.
The Kennedy Highway was closed for some time…
