Teenage rock climber Peter Garlick remembered as ‘humble’ and ‘effervescent’ after his death in Sunshine Coast fall

An 18-year-old rock climber who died after falling 40 metres from a Sunshine Coast mountain has been remembered as humble and kind with a “huge heart”.

Peter Garlick fell yesterday while rock climbing Mount Ngungun at the Glass House Mountains.

Paramedics were called to the scene about midday after reports of “a significant fall”.

A rescue helicopter was called as Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and SES volunteers assisted multiple paramedics at the scene.
