Tears, smiles and hugs after Queensland border restrictions lifted

Ms Preece’s daughter Steph and granddaughter Charlotte were on the first flight from Melbourne on the day that Queensland border restrictions were lifted.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced last week Victorian and Greater Sydney residents would be allowed to enter Queensland without the need for quarantine from Tuesday, December 1.
Ms Preece’s daughter emerged from the terminal holding her newborn daughter and she was greeted with an embrace.
“Charlotte is three months old. This is her first greeting – isn’t it, darling?” Ms Preece asked.
Steph said she was thrilled to see her parents in person.
“It’s amazing. It’s been a long time coming,” she said.
Tears, smiles and strong embraces were seen at Brisbane Airport as Victorians arrived…
