TEAMS: Cat recruit ‘managed’, no rest for champ, skipper returns – AFL
Geelong has rested Jack Steven for Thursday night’s clash against Brisbane

GEELONG has opted to rest recruit Jack Steven off a five-day break for Thursday night’s date with Brisbane at the SCG.
After three straight games at his new club, the former Saint will be replaced by Sam Simpson for his first AFL match since round 17, 2018.

Lions skipper Dayne Zorko returns after missing one match with a calf injury and takes the place of midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen, who strained his calf in last week’s win over Port Adelaide.
After flirting with the idea of resting Gary Ablett following his 350th AFL match last Saturday, the Cats have chosen to name the champion small forward for the clash on neutral territory.
Second-year speedster Jordan Clark remains an emergency for the Cats, while Alex Witherden is still on the outer at the Lions having last played in round one.
Having spent the week in Sydney, the Cats will depart for a minimum three-week stint in Perth following the match, while the Lions will remain in Sydney before facing Greater Western Sydney.
