Tasmanian Labor internally divided over Kingborough Mayor Dean Winter’s potential state preselection

A stoush over Kingborough Mayor Dean Winter threatens to split the Labor Party at the beginning of the state election campaign, with a party source saying his potential preselection is being seen “as a test of whether Labor is in the business of winning elections.”

The party is internally divided about whether Mr Winter, who is expected to nominate for preselection, should be among its five candidates for the southern seat of Franklin.
