Tasmanian artist creates sandstone convict cottage doll’s house in astonishing detail

An interest in history and a “burning need to do things in a little too much detail” inspired artist and conservator Effie Pryer to make an exact replica of an 1848 sandstone cottage as a doll’s house.

Pryer’s inspiration came from the historic township up the Derwent River from Hobart, near Brighton.
