Tamzin Merchant, the first actress cast as Daenerys Targaryen, speaks out about the unaired Game of Thrones pilot—and how different the show might have been.
Speaking with EWs Game of Thrones scholar James Hibberd, Merchant said, Shooting the pilot was a great lesson. It was an affirmation about listening to my instincts and following them, because I tried to back out of that situation and, during the contract process, I did back out.
