Taiwan will defend itself ‘to the very last day’ if China attacks, Foreign Minister warns

Taiwan’s Foreign Minister says the island will defend itself “to the very last day” if attacked by China, as the minister who oversees the Coast Guard warns Chinese drones may be shot down if they stray too close to Taiwanese territory.

The democratic self-governed island has complained of repeated military activities by Beijing in recent months, with China’s air force making almost daily sorties into Taiwan’s air defence identification zone.
