Sydney underworld figure Arthur Stanley ‘Neddy’ Smith dies

Convicted murderer, drug trafficker and armed robber Arthur ‘Neddy’ Smith has died in jail.

The ABC understands the 76-year-old died earlier tonight at Sydney’s Long Bay prison hospital of natural causes.

He had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in the 1980s and had dementia.
