Sydney to Melbourne flight breach could have been a ‘Ruby Princess 2’, health expert says
A mistake that allowed two international travellers to bypass quarantine requirements after landing in Sydney could have ended up being a “Ruby Princess 2”, a health expert has warned.
NSW Police apologised for the mistake and said practices and systems at Sydney International Airport are being reviewed and strengthened as a result of the breach

How were the two travellers able to avoid quarantine?
On Saturday, two passengers arrived in Sydney after travelling from Frankfurt, Germany via Tokyo, Japan.
The 53-year-old and her 15-year-old son were allowed to fly into Australia because they are dual German-Australian citizens.
The pair were screened by health officials and the Australian Border Force (ABF).
