WA case brings new rules

NSW Health has announced all travellers from Western Australia coming to NSW since January 25 would be subject to the same stay-at-home restrictions as they would face had they stayed in WA.

The announcement follows WA yesterday recording a positive COVID-19 case — a hotel quarantine worker — and entering a snap five-day lockdown.

The new restriction comes as Queensland reopened its border to all of NSW after six weeks of closure, meaning travellers do not require a border permit or a hotel quarantine stint to travel north anymore.

NSW has not recorded a local case of COVID-19 in 14 days.
