Sydney news: BOM warns more thunderstorms on the way, Sculpture by the Sea postponed again
Here’s what you need to know this morning.
More wild weather forecast
Multiple storms cells brought powerful winds and hail to some areas of the NSW coast last night, and more wild weather is forecast for today.
Hail pelted down in the Hunter region as well as on Sydney’s north shore, with 2 centimetre hail falling in Normanhurst.
“Not too much rain came out of the storm but we did see 29 millimetres in Mona Vale on the northern beaches,” Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Hugh McDowell said.
More thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and into the evening on the Central Coast and Sydney, with the chance of more hail and intense winds.
