Sydney news: Albury teen charged with terrorism offences, woman charged with attempted murder
Here’s what you need to know this morning.
Albury teen charged with terrorism offences
An Albury teenager who was arrested yesterday has been charged with urging violence against members or groups and advocating terrorism.
The 18-year-old was arrested in his East Albury home yesterday morning, hours after he allegedly made online comments suggesting he was willing to be involved in a ”mass casualty event”.
Officers have been investigating him for several months and say he shared extremist right wing views online, accessed bomb-making instructions and incited others to commit acts of violence.
Police said no specific acts of terrorism were planned but allege his online posts were escalating and they were forced to act.
