Reward announced for cold case
A $1 million reward has been announced for information into the murder of Melissa Hunt, whose body was found partially submerged in a Newcastle dam on Anzac Day, 26 years ago.
The 22-year-old woman was found with severe head injuries near the weir wall of Burrenjim Dam, near Stockrington.
Her death was referred to the Unsolved Homicide Unit after a 1998 Coronial Inquest and is now under reinvestigation by detectives attached to Strike Force Circulo.
Police will be joined by Ms Hunt’s family at NSW Police Headquarters in Parramatta for the announcement later this morning.
