A witness has told a court the samurai sword killing of a home invader in the middle of an inner Sydney street was like “something out of a movie”.

Thomas Scott lives with his girlfriend Sarah Baker in an apartment that overlooks a granny flat that was targeted as part of an armed robbery two years ago.
