Sweltering conditions are set to ease in central and southern Queensland after record-breaking temperatures on Thursday.
Rockhampton recorded its hottest October day since 2019, reaching 39 degrees Celsius.
The same record was broken in Biloela, where the temperature soared to just shy of 38C.
