The coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of the most glitzy event on the Swedish royal family’s calendar.
The annual Nobel Banquet, held in December at the Stockholm City Hall, will not take place this year over fears the large number of guests would further spread the virus, putting the public’s health at risk.
It follows the awarding of the Nobel Prize, an international award given yearly for achievements in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, economics, and peace.
