Suspect named as hunt continues for man after Gold Coast school lockdown
A school representative reportedly phoned ahead with names of students to ensure the children were ready to be picked up straight away by their parents.
The Ormeau State School Facebook page alerted parents of the unfolding event.
“Please be advised children are safe, have had their lunch and are working in their rooms,” it said on Tuesday afternoon.
Acting Inspector Kevin Grant said a search for Mr Lutgenau began at 9am on Tuesday, with the focus revolving around acres of bushland near Guara Grove, but he was not found.
“We’re always concerned with members of the public with safety when we get threats of this nature, so we treat them all very seriously,” he said.
