Crusaders tackling machine Tom Christie requires shoulder surgery and will miss the remainder of Super Rugby Aotearoa.
Head coach Scott Robertson confirmed the blow on Friday morning, when he unveiled his team to play the Blues in a hotly anticipated match at Eden Park on Sunday.
Christie, the competitions leading tackler (42), dislocated his shoulder early in the second half of last weeks win against the Chiefs in Christchurch, and has been replaced in the starting side by Sione Havili Talitui.
