Canada Bay Council has confirmed to Fox Sports a section of the development behind the goalposts has been quarantined after a building site inspection by archaeologists uncovered the find.
The discovery means work on the Community centre element of the project has been halted as the Council conducts an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Report on the site.
Crucially, there are two main buildings involved in the redevelopment of Concord Oval project.
